Kayak or Canoe river running skills - an introduction  So you can paddle and roll (most of the time!) and want to get on moving water. This weekend is a great way to be introduced to the awesome fun of paddling on grade II water. Our instructors will guide and lead you, coaching along the way, down some of the best grade II rivers in south west of England or Wales. We aim to improve your paddling ability and help you to recognise what is and is not runnable. We will demonstrate and practice the use of various pieces of rescue equipment so you can, if needed, rescue your paddling buddies. We can also train and assess for the new BCU star awards for kayakers and canoeists.

Previous experience: Fairly decent flat water paddling ability...

Cost: £250 for the 2 days of paddling for a group of paddlers (6 max).

Equipment required: Bring your own

Dates: You choose! Please just EMAIL to check availability of the instructors and likely water conditions

River running skills for the big stuff This is for experienced grade II+ paddlers who want to have a go at running safely some of the bigger volume rivers in the UK or if you want to improve your paddling in preparation for a trip to the Alps. On these river trips you will have both Pen and Ian to guide you down the rivers. We are not saying you won't swim but we will chase your boat for you!

During the weekend we will coach and improve your white water paddling skills - discuss and demonstrate suitable rescue methods, look at river running strategies and give you paddling options for further trips within your groups ability.
