Rock Climbing skills

Learn to rock climb This 2 day course is ideal for anyone who wants to have a go at real rock climbing, you will be climbing as a second rather than just top roping. The course is based in the south west of England and we will take you to some of the best and uncrowded rock climbing venues in the west country! We work on a maximum instructor ratio of 1:2 so that you get the maximum from your weekend. During the 2 day course we will introduce you, under your own steam, to the pleasure of climbing on real rock. You will be under the supervision of a fully qualified rock climbing instructor who will guide you and demonstrate everything in a clear and relaxed manner. You will definitely get lots of vertical time in during this course. These courses are run in the south of England. (North Wales on request). Cost: £200 for one person (Non-residential). Learn to lead climb This 2 day course is where you learn to be at the sharp end of the rope. Our fully qualified instructor is a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors so you will always be in safe hands. We will guide you through the transition from climbing as a second to leading your own climbs - but at your pace. We look at tying in techniques, choosing a suitable lead rack, how to place lead gear, clipping methods and finally, building that bombproof belay once you get to the top! These courses are run in the south of England. (North Wales on request). All rock climbing equipment will be supplied by The AdventureFitness Company unless you have some that you want to use (once we have checked it!) Improve your climbing and stop scaring yourself! So you climb outdoors and lead routes but end up scaring yourself most of the time? Are your belays not that good, does your lead gear keep falling out? Then book now for our Improve your climbing course! For this course our instructor is a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors so they will have a ton of experience to show you how to climb safely! We will concentrate on placing gear, building bombproof belays in a multi pitch scenario, general rope work and management skills. And of course not forgetting the all important how to get back down to the ground safely techniques- an all too easily overlooked part of the climb! These courses are run in the south of England. Self Rescue for those pear shaped moments! Learn how to get yourself and your partner out of those "pear shaped" moments that can happen to the best of us - especially when we lest expect it. Your instructor for the two day course will be a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors with a vast amount of climbing experience.   During the two day course we teach you various self rescue techniques depending on the situation and discuss methods of looking after an injured partner. Suitable for all those who find themselves on multi-pitch climbs, whatever your lead climbing grade is. These courses are run in the south of England. (North Wales on request).
