Single Pitch Award Training Before you apply for the two day training course please make sure you can answer yes to the following:
The SPA training course is run over two days, (with evening discussions and presentations), by highly experienced and qualified instructors who have been approved by the MLTE. During the course we will look at lead climbing techniques including gear placement and belaying methods on single pitch climbs. We will discuss and practise top rope rigging and supervision/management of groups at outdoor and indoor venues and cover group abseiling procedures. We encourage you to bring along your own climbing equipment as this always adds spice to the equipment "upkeep and maintenance" discussion! The 2 days will be run as a training course and will be presented at a level relevant to your experience and knowledge of climbing prior to your attendance. Price is for instruction only during the course and does not include food or accommodation but we are more than happy to arrange this for you with bunkhouses or B&Bs. |
